Dear Demond,

As we begin to prepare to spend time with family and friends during this festive holiday season, let us take a moment to remember the many blessings in our individual lives.  During this past year we have all experienced delicate moments of joy and for some, daunting valley moment experiences.  But, through it all we have received the gift of the present!  And in receiving this most precious gift, in and of itself means that there is a purpose for our life!

-Purpose, noun 2. end in view; the object for which something exists or is done; as, what good purpose will this answer?

Let us reflect on the purpose for our lives and live in the moment.  Not in the past (which is regret); not in the future (which is anxiousness) but right here and right now, so that we do not make the mistake of living as if we will never die, and then die having never really lived.

Happy Holidays,
Demond Carter

The Aura of Anticipation

When we know something is about to happen our thoughts lead expectancy. Whether it's an issue, a situation or even an event such as matriculation, Club Timpo was the site were this anticipated experience unfolded, and so it was. Beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen received validation for their time and efforts for learning the art of urban style ballroom dancing. Students, we recognize and congratulate you!!! Shout out also for their instructor's patience and expertise. Another special treat featured the Purple Charlotte Steppers line dancers. This was indeed, an evening of anticipated memories not easily forgotten.

Kim Pearson

Advance Class

This time I'm really excited! Actually, I stayed in Intermediate Two longer to make sure I was ready for the Advance Class. So at this time, my confidence is soaring. Matriculation gives me a sense of satisfaction....feels like I accomplished a goal. I'm happy that other students are achieving and critiquing the dance. To me, the ceremony represents a vision of moving forward.

James Smith

Intermediate Two

From a man's perspective we don't really think about the actual event. We just want to dance with the ladies. I haven't danced since I was a kid. It was fun in the Beginners Class, given the fact that I had six left feet. Now I'm dancing with two feet and being recognized for my achievement. I'm just happy to be on the dance floor.
